Today Julie and I hosted our Operation Write Home card making day at work. We set up all our supplies in the break room, and had card parts pre-cut. People came in on their breaks and lunches and stamped and glued and had a good time.
Witness our creations:

Grand total was sixty valentine cards and fifteen Any Hero Thank You cards! I didn’t get a photo of the thank you cards. They were purchased rather than made, but very colorful!
I want to thank the folks who contributed to our success. First, Julie, who got me addicted taught me to stamp and worked so hard to get everything prepared. Second Chris, my boss, who let me do this all day. (Julie and I noted that at first, stamping at work was weird, but we shook that off right away and had fun all day.)
And for the card makers/writers: Patty, Ron, Tressica, DeLecia, Robin, Joseph, Diana, Mary, Sonya, Nell, Melissa, La Shunda, Allison, Shawna, Nina, Bridgett, Monica, Sonya, Lauri, Andy, Vanita, Valarie, Lise, Diane, and Kenny. I hope I didn’t leave anyone out. A couple of cards were not signed and one I couldn’t make out the signature. Also thanks to Pete for the technical assist afterwards.
It was a lot of fun, and the Heroes will be happy. My friend Timm who is a veteran himself wanted to thank everyone for the effort, on behalf of his brothers and sisters who are still serving. He knows from experience how much it means.
And, in keeping with my posting a card a day, I made this one today:

About the card: The base of the card is Naturals Ivory and the card stock is Very Vanilla. The paper and ribbon were from that ebay lot I’ve posted so much about. It continues to amaze me how much stuff I got from that auction for so little money. The sentiment is from the I Love You set, and is stamped in Riding Hood Red.
It’s a really simple card, but I like it. The paper is so colorful and cheerful. You’ll be seeing more of it. I have a LOT of it.

Wow Kate!! Awesome job getting everyone involved at work – way to go!!
GO KATE! YOU ROCK! AWESOME!
That is a lot of cards! I’d love to do something like this. Thinking….
I am so proud of you and Julie!
That camo card is my favorite!
As many as we made of that card yesterday, I still think it’s as cute as the first one. I meant to thank you for suggesting we use the Sahara Sand instead of the white. That made a huge difference!
We had an AWESOME time doing Operation Write Home card making at work. All of the cards look great, and that’s because we had some GREAT instructors. Fantastic job Julie and Kate!
Thanks D!
ROCK! Sorry I missed it!
Yeah for card making success!
