Birthdays and Butterflies and …

um, sketch challenges doesn’t start with a B, and I’m not thinking of something else clever to add there.

Last night I made two, count them, TWO cards!  But I’m only posting one of them right now because the other one is on its way to its intended birthday girl.  Tonight’s card is also for a birthday girl, DeLecia (wave to everybody, D), and I’ll warn you now, the girl loves pink, and purple, and butterflies.

Also, this is my card for this week’s sketch challenge over at stars & stamps.  Here’s the sketch:

And, ::drumroll::  here’s the card:

hello-02-18-10

About the card:  The cardstock is So Saffron, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, and Lavender Lace.  The sentiment is stamped in Regal Rose, and it’s from the Sincere Salutations set.  The designer paper is Shades of Spring.  The ribbon is Very Vanilla.  The butterflies are cut using the Beautiful Wings die in the Big Shot.

I just love that Beautiful Wings die.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DELECIA!!!

  1. So pretty!!

  2. I am so impressed with your art. The birthday card above is beautiful. You have lots of talent and patience. xo

  3. I like the butterflies on the swirls – it has a lot of motion to it!

  4. Kate, think about joining us in our bloggosphere by starting your own blog. Beth and Randy are working with the book THE ARTIST’S WAY. Check your library and see if you can get the book there and join them on their writing/artist date adventures. I would love to read your writing and I know I speak for the group as well.

    Something to think about while you are creating your cards. xo

  5. Beautiful card! LOVE the patterned paper and those butterflies! I’m really getting into butterflies myself lately! Must be spring fever coming on already.
